Melvin Alken

Hi there! My name is Melvin, I'm 24 years old and I am a fursuiter/photographer from the Netherlands. I have started out as a hobby photographer all the way back when I was 9 years old, when I received my first digital camera (Olympus point & shoot), and have since enjoyed the craft! I started out in the furry fandom in 2015 and commissioned my own suit in 2024 (also called Melvin).

I love to combine these two beautiful crafts and capture the amazing moments together!

Upcoming events:

My Fursuit - Melvin Dookbutt

Melvin Dookbutt is a natural colored stoat/ermine (a specific type of weasel) with purple accents and cute marks. Up until now he only exists as a full partial (head, tail, feet paws, hand paws and arm sleeves) but soon there will be a fullbody! He also has magnetically detachable eyelids and two types of tongues which are also applied with magnets. This boyyo is my main suit (and my only suit for now) and is dear to my heart since his character is based on my real life persona.

My Gear - Sony A7Rii

I make use of 1 full-frame camera, with two zoom lenses:

  • Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III RXD
  • Tamron 70-180mm f2.8 Di III VXD

These lenses together give me a wide range of focal lengths to work with, and together with the fixed aperture across the whole range, I am able to make very nice pictures in low-lit area's as well! The sharpness of these lenses are also amazing in my opinion, especially for the price.

Together with this I also own a couple nice tools to help me set up even better pictures:

  • Hot shoe flash
  • Ball head tripod
  • Small RGB light cube

I also own a DJI Action Pro 2, if I feel like making some fun wide angle (video) shots, or underwater shots!
